The great river has always represented for me a living part of the vast territory through which it winds. One of the most fascinating features of the Po river is the huge variety of landscapes, people, and places that it crosses with absolute mastery of its own course, inviting us to see it as part of the territory, not just a means of survival or pleasure. And knowing that you have something in permanent movement in front of you for hundreds of kilometers is somehow scary but leads to reflection. Great rivers leave a mark wherever they flow, today as in the past.
Works
The search for continuity between past and present inspired me to observe water with an almost shy gaze, leaving to images the duty of describing the river. I wanted to give back the river its strength, and so I chose a strong compositional balance, and mild colors, which link the Po river we see today with its past.
