A journey through indefinite spaces Project

The vision

The space of a city is not always inhabited by things, objects, buildings that people use, see, touch. Sometimes space remains still while time flows forward. The urban layout changes, leaving shadows, voids, blind corners that no one cares to look at anymore. This project is like a beam of light bringing to the foreground these abandoned but far from empty places. Crossing the threshold of a former hospital I found myself in a silent, bare, still environment, which seems to have been emptied a second before, with people disappearing and taking their things with them, their breath and thoughts still hanging on the walls together with signs, ads, notes. Bends, sharp corners and sudden openings where the gaze sweeps, where light reflects and bounces between windows, shiny floors and massive columns. A journey through indefinite spaces.

Works

The visual itinerary becomes an almost frantic race against time to grasp the continuous change of indefinite spaces, which restlessly modify themselves while searching for their new identity. I chose grainy black and white to portray the changing character of a place in search of its own destiny.
